Help Recycle and Quench Your Thirst

We do a lot of recycling here at the shop. When we can, we re-use shipping boxes to send out packages. So, for example, don't be surprised if you get a box that says "Frozen Waffles, Keep Cool" on it or it may have a big ol' Amazon smiley logo on it.

We also use recyclable packing materials whenever we can, such as paper. We're not fans of packing peanuts but we do use them sometimes for fragile items like glasses or lights. We never ever buy them. We re-use what we get in boxes sent to us.

We do sometimes use plastic air pillows or bubble wrap, but again, only if we got them in the first place from someone else.

In the shop, here, we also recycle paper, cardboard, and plastic bottles. My employees think I'm nuts sometimes when I scream "No! That goes in the white bin in the back!" but I can take the heat.

Every couple weeks I load up the truck and haul it off to our local drop-off center and cut and stuff it all into tiny holes in the bin. It's hard work but it's important to me.

One other thing that is important is recycling your printer's ink cartridges and dead cell phone batteries. Not everyone likes to bother with it so for you local folks, we're bribing you to do it. If you drop off either one here, we'll give you a free can of soda or a bottle of water to cool off and quench your thirst. Then we'll deal with getting them recycled in bulk. If you bring in 3 or more, we'll even fork over a free bottle or can of NOS Energy Drink. Such a deal!

Lots of News!

Looks like I've let the news stack up a bit so here's a boatload in one shot.

First of all, for you local folks, our lift is in and ready for your rig! So if you need something installed, bring it by!

Also for you local people, come by this Saturday for our open house between 10am and 2pm. We'll probably have hot dogs, drinks, and all that stuff.

For those of you needing Dana 44 axle shafts for your Jeeps, Alloy USA shafts are in stock and ready to ship. If you need them assembled, we'll need a little time but we can do that, too.

Aluminum Customs Cyclone Hood Panel Insert

TJ engines run hot. Add in summer's high temperatures, crawling on the trails or sitting in traffic and you have a recipe for overheating. The solution? The Aluminum Customs Cyclone Hood Panel Insert.

This is a simple install. The hardest part is gathering up the gumption to cut the holes in your hood! But once you make that first cut, the rest is easy. :)

At $194.95 with FREE SHIPPING, this should really be a great boost in air flow and actually looks pretty cool. Oh, and of course, it's paintable if you don't like the raw aluminum look.

UNICHIP - BIG Price Increase Coming

If you want some big time gains in power, you need to check out UNICHIP. We carry the whole lineup but right now we only have Jeep TJ and JK models on our site, because we're expecting a very significant price increase in the next week or two ($100 or more is what we're told).

The Rockshop Rockies

In the spirit of all things Spring and community involvement, we're so very proud to be sponsoring the Chelsea Youth League 7/8 year old Rockies baseball team.

I went out to watch the boys play last night and I was very impressed with them. They can hit, they can throw, and darnit if they aren't just so much fun to watch.

Over the years I grew tired of the major leagues. It seems their motivation isn't so much the game anymore. I enjoy seeing our local Birmingham Barons minor team play much more. And now, I can enjoy these little guys playing the game they love so much and having tons of fun on the diamond because they want to play ball. They looked so excited to be out there and they all have full uniforms and a great field to play on. Boy, we were lucky to get t-shirts some years when I played, let alone have manicured fields, score boards and functional helmets!

Anyway, you looked good out their kids. Have fun! We're proud to have our name on your shirts!

JKS Grants Us Our Wish!

JKS has always made a great tie rod for the Jeep TJ/XJ/ZJ. But we always wanted something a little thicker, and oh - you know - already black so we didn't have to paint the darned thing. It was always hard to sell a guy with a taco'd tie rod a new one, then tell him, by the way, you have to paint it first before you put it on."

So I just got off the phone with Jim Nollette, owner of JKS. He told me he now has the NEW TR100 ready to ship. It's 1 1/4" thick .375" DOM tubing and... it's powdercoated black! Hurray!

OK, the photo over there on the right is actually the old one and just look how pretty it is sitting there, wit its nice wrench-flat for easy adjustments and those gorgeous jam nuts... ah... takes your breath away doesn't it? Now imagine that, only fatter and powdercoated black. Yeah, baby!

Have we got you rev'd up yet? I hope so. Oh, here's the best part, we've got them for a mere $89.95 with FREE SHIPPING! That's $5.05 off of retail and we're eating your freight.

You're still reading. Why are you still here? Go order a new tie rod!
