I read an interesting
column from Jean Chatzky this morning that I thought I'd link to here. It's about what your time is worth and how that relates to shopping around for the best price on things.
I feel like the pricing here at our shop is extremely competitive in most cases. Once in a while our customers dig up a lower price somewhere and ask us to match it and when we can, we do, most of the time. But what that tells me is that if people want to buy it here in the first place, then our shop must have something they like better than the other places. Is it the name? The store? Me? Our service? Who knows.
Anyway, check out Jean's article. It's interesting because sometimes I think this way. I don't always price shop everything I buy. You can drive yourself nuts doing it and it's a waste of time if you already know where you
want to buy it from in the first place. Build a relationship with your sales people at the stores you like and it'll always pay off. Sometimes by saving you money. Sometimes by saving you time and aggravation. Sometimes it's intangible.
OK, there's my thought for today.
